Consumer Notes:
In biology, consumer is a term for an organism that cannot manufacture its own from inorganic sources; hence, it obtains food by feeding on other organisms (or organic matter). Consumers are also called Heterotrophs, contrary to Autotrophs, which are the producers of the food chain. Animals, fungi and heterotrophic bacteria fall in the category of consumers.
