Chimera Notes:
A Chimera is an organism composed of cells with distinct genotypes. In the case of animals, it means that the individual is derived from two or more zygotes. Animal chimeras are produced by merging multiple fertilized eggs. Whereas, in the case of plants, the distinct types of tissue in chimeras may originate from the same zygote, often as a result of mutation during ordinary cell division.
