Translocation Notes:
Chromosome translocation basically is a phenomenon that results in unusual rearrangement of chromosomes or an arrangement which is not present naturally. Translocations are of different types for example he Robertsonian translocation and the reciprocal translocation. Several forms of cancer are caused by acquired translocations (as opposed to those present from conception); this has been described mainly in leukemia which includes acute myelogenous leukemia and chronic myelogenous leukemia.
Translocation Notes:
Translocation is the movement of materials from leaves to other tissues throughout the plant. Plants produce carbohydrates (sugars) in their leaves by photosynthesis, but nonphotosynthetic parts of the plant also require carbohydrates and other organic and nonorganic materials. For this reason, nutrients are translocated from sources (regions of excess carbohydrates, primarily mature leaves) to sinks (regions where the carbohydrate is needed).
