A monosomic disorder in which the female receives only one copy of the X chromosome. Turner syndrome is a chromosomal condition that affects mostly development in females. The most common feature of Turner syndrome is short stature or height which starts showing as early as 5 years of age. An early loss of ovarian function (ovarian hypofunction or premature ovarian failure) is also very common in these females.
