Receptor tyrosine kinases Notes:
Receptor tyrosine kinases are a group of proteins that are the high-affinity cell surface receptors for several polypeptide growth factors which include cytokines and also hormones. These proteins basically offer a receptive site to these factors. There are 90 unique tyrosine kinase genes identified in the human genome and out of those 58 encode receptor tyrosine kinase proteins and are present on the exterior surface of a cell.
