CAM plants Notes:
CAM plants have evolved to reduce photorespiration. CAM is basically a carbon fixation pathway that evolved in some plants as an adaptation to arid conditions. Cam plants keep their stomata shut during the day to reduce evapotranspiration, but open at night to collect carbon dioxide. Cacti, orchids and agave are examples of CAM plants.
