Acid Definition:
An acid is a substance that increases the hydrogen ion concentration of a solution.

Acid Notes:
A substance that donates the protons and accepts electrons. When an acid is dissolved in aqueous solutions, H ions are released. Common aqueous acids include hydrochloric acid which is a solution of hydrogen chloride which is found in gastric acid in the stomach and activates digestive enzymes, acetic acid which is the vinegar in a dilute aqueous solution of this liquid etc.
