Subordinating Conjunction Notes:
Subordinating conjunctions also serves with the same purpose of connecting words , phrase and independent clause into complex and more interesting sentences. The main role which is played by conjunctions is to glue the words. It save us from small sentences. With the help of these conjunctions we can convey maximum information in single sentences instead of many, small and less informative sentences. But if we talk about subordinating conjunctions , these are used to connect independent clause with the dependent ones. Some examples of such subordinating conjunctions are once, while, when, whenever, where, wherever, before, and after. A subordinate conjunction performs two functions within a sentence. First, it tells us the importance of the independent clause. Secondly it beings a change between two ideas in the same sentence. The transition always indicates a place, time, or cause.
