Bradykinin mediates inflammation. It is made up of peptides, which dilate the blood vessels by releasing nitric oxide, prostacyclin and Endothelium-Derived Hyperpolarizing Factor. This is a pharmacologically and physiologically active peptide from the proteins kinin group and consists of nine amino acids.
