Prokaryotic cells Notes:

A prokaryote is a unicellular organism that lacks a membrane-bound nucleus, mitochondria, or any other membrane-bound organelle. Prokaryotic cells are the opposite of eukaryotic cells in that they do not have membrane bound organelles or nucleus. In the prokaryotes, all the intracellular water-soluble components (proteins, DNA and metabolites) are located together in the cytoplasm. The genetic material is usually just embedded in the cytoplasm and no nucleus is present like that in the case of eukaryotes.
