Gene expression Definition:
Gene expression is a cell's protein production by being transcribed into mRNAs and then translated into specific proteins.

Gene expression Notes:
Gene expression is the process through which the gene expresses itself and transcribes in to a functional gene product. Gene product can be a protein which may work as for example functional enzymes or may have a structural role. Other gene products include the production of functional RNAs that have roles in gene expression and regulation. Several steps in the gene expression process may be modulated, including the transcription, RNA splicing, translation, and post-translational modification of a protein.
