Energy Notes:
Energy is the ability to do work. It is the property that comes from different sources such as motion, heat, direction etc. and can be transferred from one entity to another but it cannot be created or destroyed. The total energy on earth for example is in a constant form. Energy is a conserved quantity; the law of conservation of energy states that energy can be converted in form, but not created or destroyed. The SI unit of energy is the joule, which is the energy transferred to an object by the work of moving it a distance of 1 meter against a force of 1 newton.
