Endometriosis is a condition in which cells comparable to those in the the layer of tissue that normally covers the inside of the uterus called endometrium, grow outside of it. Most often this happens on the ovaries and the fallopian tubes, and tissue around this area but in rare cases it may also occur in other parts of the body. infertility can occur because of this condition. Nearly 50% of those affected have lingering pelvic pain however in some cases, pain only occurs during period.
