An ideal gas is a theoretical gas. An ideal gas consists of point particles. The interactions of these particles are perfectly elastic collisions. An important thing so remember is that an ideal gas obeys the ideal gas law. According to this law the product of the volume, V, and pressure, P, is proportional to the absolute temperature T. Many real gases also behave as ideal gases under favourable conditions.
