Transport of Food Notes:
Phloem plays an important role in providing and transporting food towards entire plant body. The process of transportation is usually carried out in the form of sucrose. Transport of food is also been studied for ages. Currently, the well-known hypothesis describes that transport of food is through "pressure-flow mechanism". Xylem is taken as one way street for movement of water while phloem is a two way street for food transport.
