Stomach Definitions:
Stomach is a dilated part of alimentary canal, it is J-shaped located in the left of abdomen, just beneath diaphragm.
Biology by Dr.William George and A.R.Sheikh
Stomach is part of the digestive system-a long tube which the food that you eat travels after you swallow it.
Cambridge IGSCE Biology by Mary Jones, Geoff Jones
Stomach Notes:
Stomach is the most developed section of alimentary canal, that can be seen in left abdomen under the diaphragm. It is further divided into basic chamber i.e. cardiac portion and pyloric portion. There are two sphincters in stomach, known as cardia sphincter and pyloric sphincter. Cardiac sphincter lies between stomach and esophagus, on the other hand, phloric sphincter is between stomach and small intestine. Gastric glands secretes gastric juice, which are composed of protein digesting enzyme pepsinogen, which is involved digesting of protein. Food is further crushed and demolished through a process of churning. So in this way the course of digestion keeps on going.
