Compound Notes:
Compound is the term used for a chemical substance that is made up of many identical molecules (or molecular entities). These molecules are composed of atoms from two or more elements that are held together by chemical bonds. Whereas if a chemical element is bonded chemically to an identical chemical element, such an entity is not a compound, as a compound must contain at least two different elements.
