Activation energy Notes:

The activation energy is the energy that is required to start a reaction. This energy must be provided to a chemical or nuclear system with potential reactants to result in: a chemical reaction, nuclear reaction, or various other physical phenomena. Enzymes are proteins that help to lower this energy by binding to a molecule, or substrate and then modifying it and hence lowering the energy required to make it react.
