Chlorophyll Definitions:
Sunlight energy is absorbed by chlorophyll. It is then converted into chemical energy, which derives the photosynthesis process.
Biology by Dr.William George and A.R.Sheikh
Chlorophyll is the pigment which makes plant looks green. It is kept inside the chloroplast of plant cell.
Cambridge IGSCE Biology by Mary Jones, Geoff Jones
Chlorophyll Notes:
Chlorophyll and light plays a significant role in the synthesis of photosynthesis and driving its process. It is observed that only one percent of the light dropping and falling on the uppermost part of the leaf is dissolved and absorbed, while the rest and remaining part of the light is transmitted. The light rays, having distinguished wavelengths are not only differently dissolved by the photosynthetic pigment but at the same time are differently effective in photosynthesis. These photosynthetic pigments are further subsequently arranged and organized in the form of cluster, known as photosystems. Chlorophyll - a is regarded as the main photosynthetic pigment, absorbing mainly blue and red lights.
