It is a research method which explains the characteristics of the targeted population. It usually describes the situation, rather than making accurate predictions. Additionally, descriptive research basically focuses on explaining demographic segment of the market. This research is usually based on 'what' rather than 'why' of the subject happens. It has three different types includes; observational method, case study method, and survey method.
